CD7 (MSVA-007R)

The CD7 antibody (MSVA-007R) is a recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody designed for immunohistochemical (IHC) detection of CD7, a T-cell surface glycoprotein and early T-cell maturation marker, in human tissues. CD7 is a transmembrane costimulatory protein expressed on thymocytes, most mature peripheral T cells, natural killer (NK) cells, and pluripotent bone marrow stem cells. It plays a role in T-cell development and lymphoid interactions, although its precise function remains under investigation.

This antibody produces strong, predominantly membranous staining in T-lymphocytes, allowing clear visualization of T-cell populations in tonsil, colon, and other lymphoid tissues, while normal epithelial structures remain negative.

Product Highlights

  • Target: CD7 (T-cell surface antigen, GP40, Leu9, p41)

  • Localization: Membranous (T-lymphocytes)

  • Application: IHC (FFPE)

  • Recommended dilution: 1:100–1:200

  • Host: Recombinant rabbit monoclonal

  • Reactivity: Human

Expression & Research Relevance

  • Normal tissues: Strong membranous staining in T-cells of the tonsil interfollicular zones, germinal centers, and intraepithelial T-cells of the colon; most epithelial tissues are negative

  • Bone marrow: Some T-lymphocytes stain positive

  • Cancer tissues: Frequently expressed in T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL) and mature T-cell lymphomas; occasionally observed in AML, CML, and select solid tumors

  • Research applications: Useful for T-cell characterization, lymphoma research, and immune profiling

Validation

MSVA-007R specificity is supported by consistent staining of known CD7-positive T-cell populations and absence of non-specific staining in epithelial cells or tissues prone to IHC background. Findings are in line with published RNA and protein expression data from the Human Protein Atlas (HPA).
